What is QWO®?
QWO is the first and only FDA approved injectable used to treat moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
What is the QWO treatment like?
Before treatment, one of our aesthetic nurse practitioners will discuss treatment and expectations with you. After identifying the treatment areas, she will then use a small needle to inject QWO directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle.
QWO injections take 10 minutes or less. Your appointment will take up to 45 minutes to allow for pre-treatment consultation, photos, and prep.
In clinical trials, women required no post-treatment downtime.
Please note: You should not receive QWO if you are allergic to any collagenase or the ingredients in QWO, or have an active infection in the treatment area.
How many QWO treatments will I need?
If one of our aesthetic nurse practitioners determines that QWO is right for you, she will recommend a treatment plan, including the total number of treatments. Each treatment visit may include up to 2 treatment areas. QWO injections will be given 21 days apart for 2-3 treatment visits
What results can I expect after receiving the QWO treatment?
Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, 21 days apart.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is injection site bruising. Most bruising lessened after each treatment and resolved in less than 21 days. For a full list of side effects please visit the Qwo website.
How does QWO work to treat cellulite?
The enzymes in QWO—called collagenases—are believed to target a structural cause under the skin. QWO works in 3 ways: releasing fibrous bands (QWO breaks down the buildup of collagen in the fibrous bands), redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.
How much does QWO cost?
- The cost for QWO treatments vary depending on the severity of your cellulite.
- The cost starts at $450 per treatment and ranges to $1,200 per treatment.
- For moderate to severe cellulite, 3 treatments are recommended 21 days apart
- For mild to moderate cellulite, we are recommending 2 treatments, possibly a third.
- As mentioned, bruising is to be expected following the treatment.
QWO Before & Afters
What causes cellulite?
Cellulite is very common in adult women, in fact about 9 out of 10 women will have cellulite in their lifetime. It is important to understand that cellulite isn’t fat, nor is it caused by what or how much you eat and it is not caused by a lack of exercise.
There are 3 things that together cause those dimples.
- Skin: Over time, skin thins.
- Fat: Fat cells enlarge and push against the skin.
- Fibrous bands: The fibrous bands under the skin thicken and cause tension and the signature dimpling on your butt.
